What is sunscreen?

Sunscreens are substances applied on the surface of the skin to provide protection from harmful UV rays. They work by absorbing, reflecting, or scattering the UV rays. It protects the skin from sunburn, premature photoaging, and other skin issues caused by harmful UV rays.

What is SPF?

SPF (Sun Protection Factor) is a measure of how much solar energy (UV radiation) is required to produce sunburn on protected skin (i.e., in the presence of sunscreen) relative to the amount of solar energy required to produce sunburn on unprotected skin. As the SPF value increases, sunburn protection increases.

What type of sunscreen should I use?

The sunscreen has to be chosen based on your skin type. According to the American Academy of Dermatology, there are a few parameters to make the right sunscreen choice:

  • Water Resistant
  • Sunscreen that offers additional benefits like protection against ageing and premature skin
Is UV Doux safe to use?

UV Doux has the most trusted, dermatologically tested, and clinically proven range of sunscreen. It has a preservative-free composition and has passed stringent tests that provide a strong base of credibility and reliability among users.

How much sunscreen should I use?

Sunscreen should be applied liberally to all exposed areas. Put one ounce of sunscreen (enough to fill one shot glass) on your face and body, without forgetting your neck. Ensure you reapply for better protection.

When should I use sunscreen?
